The President / Chairman of the Ghanaian Community in Hong Kong, where I actively promote our rich culture and heritage while fostering collaboration within the local society. As an introvert, I prefer to work behind the scenes, focusing on supporting my executive team and ensuring our community thrives. I believe in shining the spotlight on my leaders rather than on myself.

I value self-sacrifice and believe that my service to the community speaks for itself, transcending just a title. I am an unapologetic believer in merit, and I serve with humility, prioritizing the well-being of others over being served.

As a seasoned entrepreneur and CEO, I have successfully launched several innovative businesses, emphasizing strategic growth and sustainable practices. My journey has also included mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs, sharing insights to inspire the next generation of leaders.

I am passionate about enhancing the welfare of our community, creating educational and economic opportunities, and strengthening ties with other expatriate groups. My vision is rooted in unity and service, ensuring that the Ghanaian Community in Hong Kong continues to thrive.

Sany Garba

Mr. Sany Garba is the dynamic CEO and founder of HipHop Links Clothing Shop, a thriving local business that has become a hub for urban fashion and culture in the community. In addition to his entrepreneurial success, Mr. Garba has dedicated himself to serving the community in meaningful ways.

As the Community Treasurer, Mr. Garba oversees the financial management and distribution of funds for various local initiatives and community programs. His keen financial acumen and commitment to transparency have been invaluable in ensuring these vital resources are utilized effectively to uplift and empower the people.

But Mr. Garba’s community involvement goes beyond just the numbers. In his role as Community Ambassador, he has become a passionate advocate and liaison, connecting residents with important services and opportunities. With his deep roots in the neighborhood and his genuine care for its wellbeing, Mr. Garbah has emerged as a trusted leader and source of support.

Through his business, his treasurer responsibilities, and his ambassador work, Mr. Sany Garbah has distinguished himself as a pillar of the community – a driven entrepreneur, a financial steward, and a champion for the people. His multifaceted contributions have made a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals, solidifying his reputation as a respected community leader.

Coach James

Coach James has a multi-national background and started his football training in Germany. He moved to Hong Kong where he met enthused football players and trainers. While he became active in the local football community, he discovered talented youth neglected by most clubs and academies. He found opportunities to provide training to these players and he found their drive and determination extremely motivating.

Coach James gained more experience in coaching and received his UEFA B-License in Germany. Combined with this education and extensive kinetics and functional training knowledge, he is a highly sought-after coach in Asia. His forward-thinking approach, ambitious sessions and positive energy attract all levels of players.

David Jordan

Mr. David Jordan aka Smooth is a retired professional soccer player and current community ambassador for community soccer team. Off the field, he serves on the executive board for the [Local Sports Foundation], where he helps guide the organization’s efforts to promote youth sports participation and development in underserved communities.

Throughout his playing career, Mr. Smooth was known for his skillful play and leadership on the pitch. Now, he leverages his platform to give back to the community and support initiatives that create opportunities for the next generation of athletes. As both a community ambassador and sports executive, Mr. Smooth remains deeply committed to making a positive impact through the power of sports.

Anne-Dora Adjei-Kyem

NEWLY APPOINTED AS ASSISTANT FINANCIAL SECRETARY OF THE GHANAIAN COMMUNITY IN HONG KONG

I’m 24 and have recently relocated to Hong Kong to work in financial sector as a business development manager.

My background is mainly finance based, currently working in Wealth Management and previously working in Accounts.

My strengths are expanding my network and I throughly enjoy any challenges thrown my way!

I have completed my AATS and currently working on my IIQES to become a qualified in HK.

I’m a massive foodie so love trying new restaurants and cuisines. I also love playing rugby and play for HKFC.

I currently specialise in financial planning and assets for expats based in Hong Kong!

Professionally my goals are to help people fast track their financial growth by creating tailored solutions that suit their preferences and circumstances.

I used to play the Tuba for award winning Tewit Youth Senior Band!

Ceela Abena Gyan

Community Relations Coordinator, GCHK

I am in the personal of Ceela Abena Gyan, a graduate of University of Ghana with a bachelor degree in Arts and Information studies. I have stage directed several plays and stage managed a couple of plays whiles working as a teaching assistant in the department of Arts. Professionally, my long term goals include taking African Arts or Ghanaian Arts into spaces that can showcase the unique ways of Ghanaian story telling. I currently volunteer at an NGO which primarily gives to those in need.

Carlos Spencer

Mr. Yaw Adjei Mensah aka Carlos Spencer as the Ghanaian Community Organizing Secretary.

Mr. Carlos Spencer, popularly known as Spencer, is the Ghanaian Community Organizing Secretary.

As a Youth Mentor and Counselor, Mr. Spencer has walked alongside and continued to support a lot of youth, young adults, and their families for many years. He loves spending time with young people and will go to great lengths to help them whenever needed.

Mr.Spencer’s strengths include being creative, compassionate, reliable, hardworking, and a good team player. He is always open to new ideas, flexible enough to work through challenging issues, and generally able to cope when things don’t go as planned. He enjoys organizing camps and retreats and is God-fearing.

One of Spencer’s weaknesses is his inability to say no when helping others.

In his free time, Spencer is a huge fan of sports, particularly football, basketball, American football, and boxing. He also enjoys nature and likes hiking.

Mr. Spencer considers it a joy and a privilege to be asked to serve alongside the great men and women of the newly constituted Ghanaian community leaders in Hong Kong.

Khadija Pomaah Adane

Khadija Pomaah Adane is a Ghanaian Economist, Educator, and Financial Planner. She is General Secretary and Acting Financial Secretary of Ghanaian Community in Hong Kong.

She holds an MSc in Applied Economics (Distinction) from the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), where she graduated at the top of her cohort and received the MSc Applied Economics Merit Award as well as the HKBU School of Business Scholastic & International Postgraduate Awards. She also holds a First Class Honours BA in Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), serving as Research and Teaching Assistant following her graduation.

At AIA International Ltd., Khadija works with individuals and families to design bespoke wealth management, insurance, and retirement solutions that help build long-term financial resilience. As the incoming General Secretary of the Ghana Community Hong Kong Association, she is deeply committed to strengthening ties within the Ghanaian diaspora, empowering professionals in Hong Kong, and promoting meaningful economic and cultural collaboration between Ghana and Hong Kong.
